About Us
Fitness,
Weights, and Aerobics (FWA) is a physical fitness and wellness
center focusing on improved physical health and improved self-esteem
through self-administered fitness and consistent self-motivated
wellness. Based on a philosophy of family fitness, the center has
grown from a mostly women's fitness center to a whole family
including children and men. The atmosphere at FWA creates a family
gathering versus a locker room feeling by monitoring language,
supporting sports, and other viewings while working out.
The staff
includes a mixed gender of trainers and aerobic instructors.
Personal trainers design programs for the individual, centered on
the individual needs and caring is focused on the individual's
progress physically and mentally. The Owner/Operator has >18 years
experience in training and developing training programs.
The Center
currently offers 12 hours daily - Monday through Friday and
Saturdays for 8 hours. Planned expansion includes increasing the
Center access time to 14 hours daily and 12 hours Saturday. The
expansion also includes locker rooms/showers; separate boxing area
and an indoor track for walking and jogging. A separate fitness
area for children increases family safety. The separate boxing area
will include a breakout room for teaching, studies, and relaxation.
FWA relocated
in 2004 to 919 Franklin Street just on the
perimeter of downtown business and then again to the central of
downtown Johnstown to 110 Franklin Street.. This location captures morning and
lunchtime clients. The new expansion will further support business
clients, corporate wellness programs, personal training sessions
within the business day and after school wellness programs. The
location is central to schools, businesses and medical training, and
learning and research facilities. Expansion also has targeted the
inclusion of physical therapy and rehabilitation.
The corporate
wellness partnership has aligned the Center with the Presidential
2010 Healthy America process. Corporate wellness partnership
provides FWA memberships at a reduced cost to the individual
encouraging wellness through fitness and prevention of obesity,
adult diabetes, and heart disease. Mental sharpness and heightened
self-esteem are extra benefits from FWA socializing and evaluated
daily progress.
